About Eleanor
Book Coach, Author and Publisher
I am a passionate advocate for writers and their stories, providing guidance and support throughout the entire writing and publishing process. Whether it’s a non-fiction book to add another product to your business, stories for your grandchildren, or to share your own personal journey.
My Mission
Sharing my knowledge and experience, leading you through the self-publishing process so you don’t waste time having to figure it out for yourself.
Change the world one book at a time, taking you with me on that journey so that your words can have a positive impact on someone’s day.
Behind the Scenes
I am a mum of three plus an energetic Labradoodle. And I can’t forget my husband, Andrew!
In our spare time, we enjoy taking the caravan on short trips to the Lake District to go walking in the hills or extended holidays in Europe.
Although running isn't a natural love, you occasionally find me running the Great North Run.
After leaving the classroom behind in 2017, I strive to make the most of the time I now have to spend with my children.
We enjoy our pamper days, afternoon tea, Disney marathons on cold weekends or visiting Kielder, Northumberland to learn about the birds of Prey.
My Back Story
After graduating from Newcastle University with an honours degree in Mathematics and a PGCE, I started teaching maths in a secondary school just outside of Newcastle upon Tyne. I had always enjoyed helping others and teaching was no different. During my early years in teaching, I went on to study and achieve a Masters in Education, also from Newcastle University.
From there I moved to a rural school, for a leadership position in maths. I thoroughly enjoyed my time at this school, however, I started seeing less and less of my own family as my career progressed, and spending more and more time at work. In 2014 I had a significant car accident and shortly after was introduced to the world of personal development through a side hustle I was, and still am, a part of.
I started to look at life differently.
I began to gradually introduce my personal development learnings to my own children as well as the students I taught. The following year, one student I taught was diagnosed with a brain tumour and died shortly after. This was the first key moment when I knew there had to be more to life and I couldn’t waste mine doing the same thing day in, day out. I wanted to make a difference in the world and I couldn’t do that in one small classroom in the North East of England.
I started to consider my options to make a bigger impact.
In 2016, my grandma, who I was very close to passed away and my desire for something more grew even more. I knew that 2016/17 was going to be my last year in teaching I just didn’t know what my future had in store.
Fuelled by my desire to have a positive impact on the world and my new-found knowledge of developing confidence and self-belief I wrote my first two children’s books. I didn’t do anything with them for 2 years. I had no idea where to start. By this time I was out of the classroom, still working in education I was delivering and coordinating professional development for maths teachers.
In 2018, I connected with a fabulous illustrator and muddled my way through the process to produce two picture books, Maya the Unicorn and Oscar the Dragon. Ironically, given the topic of the books was self-belief and confidence, I lacked any and so did not tell anyone about my books. If you’ve heard me talk, you may have heard me refer to my period of psychic marketing. It didn’t work.
2020 was a turbulent year for many. For me, it was my freedom.
Having found a fabulous coach the year prior, who worked with me on my identity I was able to step up and be the author I am. I had done everything I needed to take my books through the publishing process but until I worked on myself I was not in the position to share myself or my books with the world.
I thoroughly enjoyed the time I got to spend with my children while we were locked down. Although it was a gigantic juggle of homeschooling, working and childcare, we got to spend the most quality time together EVER. It gave me the time to look at how I was going to change the world.
In 2021, I qualified as a transformational mindset coach. Combining my experience in teaching and knowledge gained about book publishing, coupled with mindset coaching I had all of the tools to guide and support aspiring authors through the process. Having struggled through the mental blocks myself I knew I could help others who may get hit by writer’s block or imposter syndrome as well as give the practical steps to help get their books published.
In 2022 I extended that one step further, not just coaching others through the process but setting up as a self-publishing provider. My offer really is a one-stop shop of knowledge, support and practical tools to make your book a reality.
