Ava the Mermaid goes to hospital is a story to explore emotions.

Ava has to go to the hospital to have surgery to fix a hole in her heart. Her brother and sister are worried about her and miss Ava and their mum and dad while they’re away at the hospital.

Grandma looks after Ava’s brother and sister and they do some fun things to keep busy.

The book includes activities to help explore what to do if a child is feeling worried, scared, angry or upset.
